- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Dr. Dawn has taken excellent care of our pets for over 17 years, ( both horses and dogs). She's shown extreme compassion for a sick horse the the early morning hours before Thanksgivings Day appearing unexpectedly at 7 am to check on him. I've always found her to be very informative and her fees fair. BTW it sounds impossible to me that Dr. Dawn could or would ever perform surgery without anesthesia as 1) I can't imagine a dog being still enough for such a procedure without biting (and if a muzzle were used the dog wouldn't be able to yelp), and 2) that's just not in Dr. Dawn's nature. - ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I have been going to Myakka River Animal Hospital for over 20 years. I first went there to adopt my cat, Figaro. Figaro lived to be close to 20 years old when Dr. Dawn and I decided it was time for him to go to heaven. Dr. Dawn cared for my other cats and my havanese, Lucy. Lucy is old now and thanks to Dr. Dawn's care Lucy is comfortable living out her last years. I highly recommend Dr. Dawn. I drive a long way to take my pets to her. There are probably 15 animal clinics between my home and her office but she is worth the trip. Don't over think it. - ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Very Disappointed when the owners charged me an "Office Fee" of $12 for picking up some $10 meds for my pup. When I questioned the $12, one of the Owners working at the front desk said "I don't know, I charged it because I'm just the 'desk girl' and I'm told to charge it!" Really? One of the Owners is "just a desk girl" so we justify charging someone an additional $12 for picking up meds that took less than 5 minutes to obtain? When I advised them I'd look for a new place to take my pup due to the overcharge, they still didn't remove the $12 Service Charge. Good Business Ethics & Warm Friendly Service is what keeps customers coming back. When asking the Owners "What kind of pets do you have?" they blew me off with "Oh, too many to mention" - in other words "Come on lady, we don't have time to chit chat with you about our animals!" Imagine that, Animal Clinic owners who don't want to talk to their customers about their own pets (I was the only customer in the clinic, they were dead! Bad service perhaps?). P.S.
